I was very privileged to be part of British history when our nation celebrated the Queens Diamond Jubilee. I was invited by the Miss World organisation to celebrate the Queens Diamond Jubilee, on the Millennium Boat where we were part of the pageant that day. Hundreds of boats gathered along the Thames, we waited to wave and toast to the Queen as she passed by, we then followed the concession to Tower Bridge to mark the end of the pageant. It was by far a very memorable and exciting day, I felt so privileged to part of it and I felt so proud to be British.

People from all parts of the world joined together to celebrate our Queens reign, it certainly was a spectacular. The weather couldn’t of been more typically British with the terrible rain, but that didn’t stop the celebrations. Including all of the people waving flags along the banks of the river Thames. It was such a sight to see everyone celebrating our culture and coming together to celebrate such an iconic day in our culture and history.

The day was filled with British songs, and cuisine, we even had a Scottish bagpipe playing live onboard. It was great to share tea and scones with everyone, especially those who have never tried this before. It brought a smile to my face knowing that the British cream, jam and scones tasted so delicious to everyone.
